Welcome to K5Tech

Welcome to my blog about tech integration and life in general on two elementary school campuses. I have been inspired by our high school CTC, Joel Adkins, and our high school TechnoLibrarian, Carolyn Foote to begin blogging.

I am a CTC for two elementary schools in a small, but growing, district west of Austin: Eanes ISD.

The two schools I serve are Valley View Elementary and Barton Creek Elementary.

I have a few hopes in mind for my K5Tech Blog:
*Maybe 6 months to a year down the road, I, and others, can look back and read about progresses made, and lessons learned, in tech integration at my schools.

*Maybe teachers will read this and piggyback on each other’s ideas to try some of the practices I will be writing about.

*Maybe people will respond to what they read about in my blog and contribute ideas of their own.

The biggest challenge for me will be maintaining my blog on a regular basis. Things get pretty busy in the elementary tech world and having the time to post and mental energy to post may be intermittent…but we’ll see.

This is all a new, and exciting endeavor into uncharted territory for me. I have read many blogs and find them a vaulable way to keep up to date and to exchange ideas.

So I’m ready to add my 2.0 cents worth into Web 2.0!

  2. Yay Margie! Good to see others bitten by the blog bug! Keep up the work! Its really awesome to go back and read the history of posts that I have posted and Carolyn posted. It really keeps a record of discussion and dreams.

I know you will find blogging to be a valuable experience not only for recording your thoughts but also sharing them with a global viewership.

  3. Congratulations, Margie on your blogging efforts! I can’t wait to see the kids MovieMaker projects and thanks for making student projects available online for all the villages! :+)

  4. Hi Margie,

If the grit you demonstrate can be passed on to others, as one of your motivations for blogging seems to be, it will serve a very good purpose.

    Thanks for showing the way,
